Nichols Arboretum Proposal in Ann Arbor

Most people choose the Arb for photos because of the lush flowers and beautiful greenery, but the most popular spots can get pretty crowded. Intimacy and surprise were the main goals of Dean’s proposal, so while he still wanted to use this location, we met beforehand to nail down the perfect spot. Once we stumbled upon this tucked away pathway, we knew it was the one. The lighting, privacy, and the way the trees framed the space were absolute perfection. This is why I always recommend having an in-person consultation before any proposal. Being able to solidify all the logistics beforehand provides you the ability to have the best photos possible.
The day had finally come, and of course, Grace said YES! It was the sweetest moment! She couldn’t stop laughing and hugging Dean. It was such a beautiful and special experience to witness, and I felt incredibly privileged to be there capturing it. After he slipped the ring onto her finger and they shared a few more hugs, I gave them a moment alone to soak it all in before jumping into a few portraits, which turned out just as beautiful as the moment itself. 💛
If you’re thinking about proposing soon and want it captured in a way that feels natural, I’d love to be there for it. From helping plan the perfect spot to documenting the real, in the moment reactions, I’ve got you covered. Reach out anytime. I’d be honored to help you capture one of the biggest moments of your life. 💍✨
